Building a Stronger Rio Rancho Together
Meet Paul: Dedication to driving our community’s vision forward
“I feel I should do my part to give back to the City that I have called home for 40 years. I have seen many changes over the years and want to see the City continue to move in a positive direction. Over the past six plus years as the District Four representative, we have made some great accomplishments for the City and its residents. I want to continue that work and see more positive improvements for the whole of Rio Rancho and it’s residents.”

Educational Ties
Paul’s passion for Rio Rancho Public Schools is due to his family’s close connection to the education system. His wife recently retired from a 20-year career as a schoolteacher for Rio Rancho Public Schools. She now focuses her educational efforts doing one-on-one instruction based on each individual child’s learning needs. Paul’s daughter is a Rio Rancho Public Schools administrator, and with two sisters-in-law also working as educators at RRPS, it is evident that Paul and his family are invested in educating the City’s youth.

Public Service Commitment
Paul began his public service involvement in 2014, volunteering to sit on the City Planning and Zoning Board. He was subsequently appointed to the seat by the sitting City Councilor and approved by the Governing Body. Paul served in that position for approximately six years, acting as the Board Chair before choosing to run for the District Four City Council seat in 2020.

First Responders
Paul stands as a staunch advocate for our first responders, recognizing the invaluable role they play in ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. Paul is committed to ensuring that our first responders have a voice in government to carry out their duties effectively. Paul’s support and dedication to our city’s first responders has been a main priority as the City Councilor of District 4 and will continue to be as an elected Mayor.
